The tundra is inhospitable. Especially when you wake up without your memory. Nick Summerall finds himself in an arctic village called Piolet [Pay-o-Lay] set on a side of a mountain as if dumping into the deadly, icy sea. Not knowing where he is or where he came from is his smallest problem. His troubles escalate when he is accused of a crime he does not remember committing.

A Piolet is an ice ax. It also makes for a brutal form of justice. Nicks only hope of escape is a place called Golden Bear, a town he has only read of in a mysterious book, one of the few items found in his possession when he was rescued from the deadly arctic snow. The book causes as much distress as hope, giving Nick something to run too, but also plenty to run from.

 

From steep mountains to stormy seas, from the great pine forests to the ends of the earth, Nick can not outrun justice, nor can he reach a place of peace. Like his existence, Nick fears that Golden Bear my be mere fiction. And he may be running from the only man who can keep the harsh hands of justice at bay.

Golden Bear is a gospel-centered, Christian Fiction novella that esteems justice as well as mercy and brings the conclusion of each together in that mysterious way that only the gospel can.
